TRUE RADIAL - Racing Spinnakers

North TRUE RADIAL ™ spinnakers have won more races than any spinnaker design in history, not only because they are fast, but they are easy to fly. TRUE Radial spinnaker panels are computer molded, both horizontally and vertically, creating a profile that is exceptionally smooth. The result is a shape that creates a smoother and more stable wind flow over a broader wind range, which is especially important for todays generation of lighter, faster­accelerating boats. It is also beneficial to boats racing under IMS and many offshore one design class rules which limit spinnaker inventories. North spinnakers are available in cloth weights ranging from .5 polyester to NORLON 250 in a wide variety of colors.

VMG SPINNAKER (above left)Typically the smallest and lightest sail in the inventory, the VMG is designed to fly when gybing downwind in light air, sailing target boatspeed and wind angles.

AP RUNNER (above right)The spinnaker of choice for windward/leeward course racing, featuring a big head and shoulders which is fast, stable and easy­to­fly. Flat water use is better served by polyester styles, rough water is better suited to nylon.
