North 4800 SERIES™ Cruising Mainsails and Genoas are designed to deliver exceptional performance, durability and quality at a surprisingly affordable price for boats 40 feet L.O.A. and under. We accomplish this by giving you the most desirable features you want in a North cruising mainsail, but without some of the "extras" many cruising sailors don't really require.4800 SERIES mainsails and genoas are made using North's own NorDac™ 4800 sailcloth, produced using 100% Dupont Dacron@.

NorDac 4800 features an extremely tight weave for improved stability and shape holding.4800 SERIES cruising sails feature a crosscut panel layout that aligns stronger fill oriented threads in the cloth with aerodynamic loads in the sail.

North 4800 Series Cruising genoas, RF+Roller Furling genoas and mainsails feature a cross­cut layout designed to align stronger fill threads with aerodynamic loads in the sail. Additional features such as Foam Luff(shaded area) help flatten furling genoas as they are furled.
