Our synagogue is proud to have been entrusted with one of the many Torah scrolls rescued from the Holocaust and on permanent loan from the Czech Memorial Scrolls Centre, headquartered at Westminster Synagogue in London. It is on permanent display in the Temple lobby.Our scroll is from the city of Breznice, now part of the Czech Republic. Another of the Breznice scrolls is on loan to Kehillat Ma'arav, The Westside Congregation in Santa Monica, California. Jeff Gottesman of Kehillat Ma'Arav has created a Web page that provides valuable information about Breznice and its Torah scrolls.
