Using Inspiration (software product)

The best case scenario for using Inspiration would be to have one computer and some sort of display device in the room.  An inexpensive TVator ($199) w/ a TV would work very well.  Just remember to have the font size on the program to be larger.  I would have a student at the computer to type in the information as the students submit their ideas.

After they've brainstormed their ideas, have them now try to group them.  You might need to go back and think of headings that the sub-groups would go under, for example:

Then have the students decide what goes with what:

Save this brainstorming and refer back to it as you go through the opening of the novel.  How many things did they think of that the boys didn't? What did they miss.  You have them organize the steps that the boys in the novel took to survive and then compare them.
