Sharp Telmail

Using a Sharp TelMail I'll be better able to keep in close contact with my family, friends and journal transcriber.  My posting of journal updates will be delayed less than a few days from writing them on the trail.  Using this system I can relay critical information concerning trail conditions, water sources availability, off trail replenishing resources, trail rerouting and a host of other important information that will be invaluable for hiker that follow.

The ability to contact my family via e-mail at anytime I come upon a phone.   Normally my calls home will be done during daytime hours and with their busy schedule the chances are I'll miss them more than I'll reach them by phone.  Using TelMail they can leave messages for me at a designated e-mail address and I can retrieve these  messages using any phone I pass by.  In return I can also transmit e-mail to them using the same method.  This communication method also holds true for my relatives, journal transcriber, friends and other hikers.  Meeting other hikers on the trail and being able to afford them the ability to contact people through this system will be rewarding to say the least.  One example would be a piece of another hikers equipment has broken and they have to have it replaced quickly.  I can send an e-mail to the manufacturer stating the urgency and hasten the replacement time considerably.

TelMail enables me to store various names and addresses for instant access to sending e-mail to them.  I'm able to compose these e-mails anytime I have the mind to do so and then transmit them upon reaching a phone.  Once receiving messages I can view them and respond right back to those that require immediate answers  without worrying if anyone is home to answer the phone call.

My e-mail address for TelMail is hiker@pocketmail.com

I'll make every effort to answer all messages sent to me while on my hike.  The system won't accept attachments and the messages have to be less than 4000 characters.   My responses will be well under this number I promise.

As I learn more about the Sharp TelMail I'll pass on this information.
