Counting Crows Guestbook

Thank you for visiting my Counting Crows pages. I love to get feedback from people, and I would really love to share it with everybody. But since I am too busy right now to put up all the email forms I get, I figured an automated CGI script would do the trick...please add to my guestbook!
Totally wild in Toronto! Check them out on the MuchMusic Spotlight on April 24/97!

I saw them on March 17, +I had tickets also for the cincinnati show. +I got front row! +I also talked to Adam for about 10 minutes before the show. +My friends are in a band named the wax wings. +The singer talked to Adam on Rockline and requested that they play wiseblood...and they did!!! +The singer gave Adam a demo, which he greatly appreciated!, he said he would listen to it. +My friend is anxiosly awaiting a phone call. the concert was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard or seen!

Saw them in Toronto in November. +Great show, I couldn't believe how much better they were then when I saw them in 94 in Toronto at the RpM warehouse. + Saw them again, two nights ago in Kalamazoo michigan, Adan actually stopped the concert mid-song to tell to frat boys to stop pushing everyone around! It was incredible! Later in the show he stopped, I think during Time and Time and said he was sick of singing it and sang another song. +Couldn't believe it, He was so personal. +Kalamazoo's a small little place but the arena was great it was all general admission, sit/stand were you want! that's it.

I was so moved by some of the songs that I was almost in tears. +It was by far the best concert that I have ever attended. Engine 88 was wonderful and Adam seems like a real nice guy. +I had floor seats, even though i wasn't supposed to and I would pay to go again.

Absolutely awesome. +Went to the Indianapolis show on March 17th, and on the way in, Adam was sitting in the front of the bus playing cards...he waved to us after we waved then came out and signed autographs. +Totally cool guy and unbelievable concert. +Cant wait to go again.

I went to the State Theatre concert in Detroit last night, March 14. Best concert I have ever been to. We were on the main floor, center stage, no more than 20 feet away from Adam and THE BEST BAND EVER. Period. My aggresive friend and college roomate, Justin, got close enough to the stage to get a handshake from Adam as well as a setlist from the floor. Lucky S.O.B. Also, the Crows came back for a rare 2nd encore where they played Wise Blood and Sullivan Street. Detroit concerts are always the best. I am looking forward to seeing them again.

ON JANUARY 24th I ATTENED THE COUNTING CROWS CONCERT, I ORDERED MY TICKETS LATE SO MY SEAT WAS ON THE 1st LEVEL IN THE CENTER ROW RIGHT BEHIND ALL OF THE SOUND EQUIPMENT. +WELL DURING THE OPENING ACT WHICH WAS FIONNA APPLE, I TURNED AROUND AND SAW THAT ADAM WAS STANDING RIGHT BEHIND ME, SO I CALLED OUT HIS NANE AND HE WAVED TO ME. +I GOT THE COURAGE UP TO GO OVER TO HIM AND I GRABBED HIS ARM AND TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS MY IDOL AND HE JUST SAID OH REALLY, BEFORE I COULD SAY ANYTHING ELSE TO HIM THE SECURITY GUARDS TOLD ME TO GO SIT DOWN. +BUT MEETING HIM WAS MY DREAM COME TRUE. +THE CONCERT WAS INCREDIBLE, THEY SOUND WONDERFUL LIVE AND I CAN'T WAIT TILL THIS SUMMER WHEN I SEE THEM AT ROCK FEST '97.

I saw the crows in feb.in orlando at ucf arena. They were fantastic.Thay played everything I wanted to hear except"monkey"Adam seemed very into the performance and the band sounded great. He mentioned at the end that it was the first show since his surgery that he didnt feel any pain. The first encore was "round here"and it was great with lots of different lyrics. The reworked mr.jones was cool as well.I wish to god that they were coming back. The concert was feb.6th and I cant stop listening to both cds.I hope they continue to play small venues.I think some of the emotion and power would be lost in a larger arena.

so far i have seen the counting crows in d.c. at the 9:30 club(nov 96) and in houston and dallas (jan 97). +the reason i wanted to leave a note was that i read the review that Will did on the dallas show, and it was great, only i found one thing that was not completely accurate. +when adam sang "another horse dreamers blue's" for his best friend, and the end of the song he didn't dedicate it to margery, but rather mary-luise (parker). +just thought i'd say hi and leave that note. +great page by the way!

I went to see the crows on valentines day in Charlotte NC. +It was a great concert, despite that they only playe 1 hour and 25 min. Adam told the crowd he was pretty bummed, because he had just broke up with his girlfriend, the day before v-day. + I kind of felt sorry for him, but he still put it behind him and blew the roof off of Charlotte!!! Another thing I was dissappointed about was I wanted to see Ben Folds Five open. But Fionna Apple opened instead. +I was really disappointed with her show. but the Crows definitely made up for it!!!!!!

Chad: I don't have an e-mail address yet OR comments on the winter tour so you probably aren't too thrilled to hear from me, but I just wanted to tell you that your page is an essential part of my life. I am a 26 year old librarian from Springfield, Mo. and the Crows are my passion. I'm going to the concert in St. Louis on March 22 so hopefully I can submit a column telling about the experience. My only Crows story of note is that I asked them a question when they were on Modern Rock Live. (I asked about "Margery Dreams of Horses".) Anyway, I'll talk to you again as soon as I've got an address. Thank you for this excellent, excellent page!!!!

It was just so great! +They came on Jan 23 with Fiona Apple (their first concert for that leg) and Fiona did satisfactory, but once Adam stepped on stage, he just blew everyone away. +I was just upset that it was such a short concert (9:00-11:30). +They started with Recovering the Satellites, ended w/ Long December, and in between played their new version of Mr. Jones. +Despite reviews, I love that song...I like your page!

Well I did not go to any shows so what can I say? +The new album has some good songs on it, but overall is not as good as August. + It's pretty crappy that all the radio stations play is "Long December". +I love the song, but that does not mean I want to hear it 24/7. +Corporate radio is sucking more and more by the day. +If I could I'd start a radio station that played all the real musicians in rock, +not all the cheesey pop bands out now that have brilliantly been label "alternative". Alternative to substantial music is more like it. + Just a couple of years ago, everyone was buying bands like CC, because then they were labeled "alterantive", so naturaly that appealed to all those who strive to be hip. +But look now. CC is still the same, making there same kind of music, but the whole idea of "alternative" rock, or just rock, as I refer to it because the a-word really does not apply to ANYTHING mainstream, and damn, everything on the earth as an alternative! Guess my point is, if that you get stumped by all the trendy, bubble gum rock that is out there today, and don't listen to groups with originality and substance and a MESSAGE and who aren't just in it for a quick buck, then you are going to end up looking like those flukes on American Band Stand who thought they were soooo cool at the time. +Thanks.

I was at the viginia show (2/26), and it was probably the worst concert I've ever been to, and I am a huge counting crows fan. The band was slow/ Adam sang weakly and very off key/Adam never said ONE word to the audience............he seemed depressed, and many of his improv. lyrics seemed like a cry for help. All and all, it was an awful experience, and if I didn't feel so bad for Adam (because he was clearly a pained and disturbed guy), I would have been upset for being so ripped off in terms of the quality of the concert compared to the $30 I spent for a ticket.

I attended the February 14th show in Charlotte. +I've been a fan for years, but this was my first CC show. +The show was great, but I expected just a little more enthusiasm. It seemed as though Adam was not "feeling it" that night. + During the show he made a reference to his "new, X-girlfriend" and maybe this is why the show was so standard. + I felt that after seeing him live, I could understand the music more just from Adam's body gestures and emotion when he sang. + + I did not think to write down a set list b/c of my excitement for the show. +Phat page!! + +

Saw them at the State Theatre 2/25/97. It felt like we were waiting to see that show FOREVER, since we'd had the tickets since October! It was more than worth the wait. In fact, it may have been all the sweeter since we had been waiting for the rescheduled date. +They were incredible.

THE CONCERT I WENT TO WAS FEB 25, 1997 AT THE NEW BRUNSWICK STATE THEATRE. It was ONE OF the best concert i went to. IT WAS BETTER THAN RUSTED ROOT, THE SAME AS DAVE MATTHEWS BAND AND REM. THEY WERE AWESOME LIVE. COUNTING CROWS IS MY FAVORITE BAND. THE SETLIST WAS.. NOT IN ORDER 1. RECOVERING THE SATELLITES 2. ANGELS OF THE SILENCES 3. DAYLIGHT FADING 4. RAIN KING 5. MERCURY 6. ANOTHE HORSEDREAMERS BLUE 7. CHILDREN IN BLOOM 8. ROUND HERE 9. MR. JONES 10. A MURDER OF ONE 11. GHOST TRAIN 12. GOODNIGHT ELIZABETH 13. LONG DECEMBER 14. WALAWAYS 15. GOODNIGHT ELIZABETH WAS THE BEST SONG THEY SANG. ADAM WAS SITTING BY THE PIANO ALMOST CRYING BECAUSE THAT SONG IS ABOUT HOW WHEN HE CAME HOME FROM HIS FIRST TOUR HIS GIRLFRIEND ELIZABETH HAD LEFT HIM. IT WAS SO GREAT AND EMOTIONAL. I WOULD DEFINITELY SEE COUNTING CROWS AGAIN. THEY ARE THA BOMB. FIONA APPLE WAS NOT THAT GOOD. MR. JONES WAS SLOW, BUT GOOD. ROUND HERE WAS SO AWESOME. I LOVE BARLEY OUT OF TUESDAY. LONG DECEMBER, WALAWAYS,ROUND HERE, AND ANGELS OF THE SILENCES WERE THE BEST. COUNTING CROWS IS BETTER LIVE. THEY ARE 1 OF MY FIVE FAVORITE SINGERS/BANDS. 1. COUNTING CROWS 2. SHERYL CROW 3. JEWEL 4. TRACY CHAPMAN 5. NO DOUBT SEE YA SHAWN

Hello...I went to the show in Bloomington, Indiana and I was so hyped. +It was the best show I have ever seen. +When the show was over we, my roommates and I, went by the buses in hopes to meet the band. +Adam and everyone were already on the bus and we could see Adam eating soem food, I think it was a pop-tart. +Anyway, he came up to the fron tof the bus to say hi to everyone and then he came out. +I couldn't believe it, I was standing 5 feet away from Adam! +He signed autographs for all the fans, and while I waited I talked to all the other guys in the band. +I must say, they are the nicest guys I have ever met!! +When the line of people dwindled down I got in line to met Adam. +I had no idea what I was going to say because I didn't want to sound like any of the other people there. +When Adam finally got to me, I just said thank you very much and he replied with a very chipper 'you're welcome!' +I was ecstatic, then after the crowd condensed to only a few people left, my roommates and I went over to talk to Adam again. +I asked him if there was going to be an outdoor tour and he said yes...can't wait...After awhile we ran out of questions and Adam went to get a beer, I couldn't tell what kind it was, but it was an import...he came back out and talked to us some more. +It was a beautiful night, it was about 60 degrees and a little windy. +All the guys signed my shirt and it is hanging on my wall in my room. +Nobody believes that I got to meet the band, they all want to see the shirt. +I plan on getting pictures when I see them in Indianapolis on March 17th. +All I have to say is that was the greastest night of my life, I will never forget meeting Adam, he is so sweet, no one could ever say anything less!!

I don't even know where to start. I have been a fan of Counting Crows for a while now and I am only 12. When I saw the Angels of the Silences video I was in love. So my dad and I get tickets to see the Columbus OH concert on Feb. 22. (Not an easy task) So I get there and Fiona Apple does her show. ( I thought she was okay but I wanted Counting Crows.) ANd then the walk on stage and start with Recovering the Sattilites. as thier first song. I stared crying.. don't ask me why I just loved to see Adan and everone up there on a stage. I thought Adam was quite an actor. He seemed very emotional when he was singing. I loved to watch him move about the stage. I also started srying in the following songs: Anna Begins (You can't have a song more beautiful then that..), Round Here (give me a break, if you didn't cry during that performance then you have to be def and blind. :) But don'y get me wrong or anything I was crying because they are my FAVEORITE!! band in the whole world and I LOVED seeing them in concert. Mr. Jones was a little strange comparing it to the Mr. Jones on the CD. It was a lot slower and had a few extra versus to it. When they came on gor the onchor, they sang Round Here (Mmmm.... :) and A Long December. (GO ADAM!!!) and then WalkAways. Well that was the best concert I have ever been to and I would LOVE to see them in concert again. Shannon Prince

I saw the concert this past weekend in Columbus. Let me say, that was the best concert I have ever seen. Adam is a great performer to see live, and not to mention Dave, Charlie, Ben, Dan, and Matt. The whole concert I stood there and watched them in amazement. They are by far one of the best bands out there today. There songs, are the type of songs that really speak to you. The whole time I could just picture them in a small cafe or bar in Berekley playing. That is something that I would love to experience. Well, I can not give the exact set list in order, but I can give the songs that were played. They played: Recovering The satellites Catapult Angels Of The Silence Daylight Fading goodnight Elisabeth Children In Bloom Mercury A Long December Walkaways Round Here Omaha Mr. Jones Anna Begins A Murder Of One Time And Time Again Rain King Ghost Train %09That is it in a nutshell!

Last night I saw the Counting Crows at the State Theater in New Brunswick. It was the most incredible show I've ever been to. The band sounded amazing, and because the theater was so small, everyone had a perfect view. Adam was wonderful. He played a terrific slow version of Mr. Jones which no one recognized until he sang a few lines. Towards the end my friends and I made our way closer to the front and danced in the aisle. When the show was over, about 20 of us waited in the back near the buses for Adam in the freezing cold. He came out by himself about 20 minutes later and I was awestruck. Adam is the nicest, most soft-spoken guy I have ever met. He told us that he would sign for everyone and he didn't go back in until he made sure that he did. I couldn't believe that I was talking to him face to face. The night was surreal. The only bad thing about the night was that it had to end.

I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE CONCERT WAS THE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO(ANDI HAVE BEEN TO A LOT). I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS REALLY NICE HAVING IT AT SUNRISE MUSICAL THEATER , SINCE THE THEATER WAS RATHER SMALL IT MADE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE ONE ON ONE WITH THE BAND. I THINK VERY HIGHLY ABOUT THE BAND COUNTING CROWS BECAUSE OF THEIR KINDNESS THAT THEY SHOWED TO THE FANS AND SIGNING EVERYONES TICKECT OR SHIRT NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TOOK. Hey fellow Counting Crows fans! +We caught an amazing concert at Massey Hall, on November 22, 96. +Adam displayed his increadible stage presence and the whole band was great! (We loved Dan's silver/sparkle outfit!) Extra-cool moments included when Adam said that the crowd was "The cutest thing he's seen in his whole life.", Adam pretending he was about to dive off the stage into the crowd an extra long, extra amazing version of Anna Begins and also Murder of One, where he sung "You don't wanna waste your life just like I wasted mine." which was particularily heart-wrenching! WE LOVE COUNTING CROWS AND ADAMA DURITZ!!! THANX FOR THE GREAT WEBSITE!!!! (Adam would be proud!)

The whole show was mesmerzing. Adam was really pumped for this one. traveled a far way to see this one. From Natichitoches, Louisiana where I'm going to NSu. Had to scalp tickets which cost me a fortune. It was worth it. extremly enjoyed the version of Round Here. with the thrown in lyrcis of leave the light on. This was the best show I've been to in awhile. got to meet the band after the show where I told Adam I hope his foot would get better. He said eventually it will. Well, after seeing the concert in Richmond last night, I have to say I was really impressed. I wouldn't go so far as to say it changed my life, but it was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever seen. They played all the songs I wanted to hear (Omaha, Sullivan St, etc) and really gave an excellent performance. What really did it for me was when Adam sat down in the middle of "'Round Here" and +did some alternate lyrics - the place was just kinda mesmerized ny the words and music. Im glad I got to see them in a smaller venue, a more personal sourrounding. For those of you who haven't seen the show yet, I dont care what you have to do...get tickets. Who knows it might even change you life +Snoogins! Can't wait till they come back this Summer!

Well, I have'nt seen The Crows in concert yet but I thought that I might have an interesting outlook on thier music that some of you might like to hear and maybe the band might like too...I first heard of Counting Crows from thier August...album and was hooked. +You're saying "Yeah, we all were"...well the funny thing is that I don't even listen to that kind of music. +I heard them by accident. +I am a musician and I play COUNTRY music!!!! +My friends thought I was nuts when I bought a rock album, but now the all love the Crows too. +I don't really know what it is about thier music that I love so much but I can't get enough. +Thier latest album holds something special for me also. When I first listened to ' A Long December' it nearly floored me. +Number one I was born in December and have had somewhat of a rough upbringing, ( It's a long December and there's reason to believe, maybe this year will be better than the last...). +The next cool thing about me and the song is that my grandmother died in a hospital in the winter...sad but true. +Also, the light in my life was "attached" to a girl from California. +I won't quote anymore lines, you all know the song but you see what I mean. +Anyway, I'm taking up alot of space so I'll go. +Anybody---E-Mail me if you think this story is even the slightest bit interesting...escpecially about the "me being and playing country music but loving the Crows" part. +Love you guys.........

I just saw the Crows last night in Norfolk, VA. +They were amazing!!! They played the most awesome version of Mr.Jones. +It featured the accordion and was just a totally different take on the song. They did two acoustic numbers too. +I'm going to see them tonight in Richmond! They truly are a band that you simply must experience live in order to fully appreciate their music and what they have to say.

i had the extreme and unsurpassed pleasure of seeing he counting crows during their winter tour at the tower theatre in Philadelphia. when the almost equally awesome band "cake" opened for them, adam duritz came out into the audience (very low key, mind you) and sat in the seat directly infront of me and in front of the sound booth. i often wonder if he remembers the 'stupid star' who asked for his autograph. probably not... but he's still the "adam the untouchable" and will always be the closest thing to a god in my book hope that don't scare anybody

Charlotte: +February 14th I'm friends with a relative of Matt Malley who arranged for after show back stage passes because she knew how much we liked The Counting Crows, and had followed them from the beginning of their career. +We drove 3 hours in sleet and freezing rain only to be told once we arrived, that there would be NO BACKSTAGE ACCESS. +(Never mind that we had just stood at the box office, and saw AA and AS passes being distributed left and right from a band listing.) +Matt Malley personally approved 4 passes for our group and I even spoke to his management firm just before leaving for Charlotte to be sure everything was arranged. +I was told to speak to their road manager if we had any problems. +Well, all I can say is the crew for the Counting Crows is perhaps the most arrogant, rude group of people I've ever dealt with in my life. +They basically said, "Tough", hope you enjoy the show though. +Well, our excitement of meeting and hearing our favorite group wasn't too high at that point. +Yes, I still like their music, but it's going to be very difficult for me to shell out another dollar to help advance the career of a talented group who seems to have forgotten about the fans. +I know, you guys will all probably hate me, but hey, we were given a RAW DEAL period. +My son had bought concert tickets for his girlfriend for Valentine's Day, and the surprise of meeting her favorite group. +Now, he's embarrased and angry, and in my opinion, has every right to be at this point. +We tried to stay and listen to the concert after being jerked around, but it just didn't feel right given the treatment we had received. +So sorry to say this guys, but I'm an EX Counting Crow Fan. +

Excellent concert on February 13,1997!! I was lucky enough to be in the front row and felt like I was at a personal concert the way Adam acknowledges everyone individually in the row (I had heard previous complaints that the band does not pay enough attention to the audience and I do not agree). Also, Adam has a remarkable live voice, as you all probably already know. +The acoustic version of "Mr. Jones" was great, as were all of the acoustic songs.

The show was outstanding, i had seats all the way upstairs, but after Cake played my friend who was seated downstairs came up and told me that his girlfriend knew someone who worked at the Tower Theater and that we could get backstage after the show if i made it down. +The show was incredible and highlights included Round Here (alt lyrics), Perfect Blue Buildings (alt lyrics), and a great rendition of Rain King in the encore. +I snuck downstairs before the first encore and got to see the band upclose, the encores were great with A Long December and Walkaways being my favorite. +After the show, the dude who said he could get us in said Adam didnt want anyone else backstage, and that we could wait out by the bus to meet him. +After a half hour in the cold weather, Adam came out, was so soft spoken, and signed for everyone. +When i met him, i was so delighted, but the only thing i could say to him was "Nice show Mister Duritz". +Contrary to some of the articles ive read about him, he was the nicest anyone could be: "i want to be adam duritz". +(8 Dec 96)

HERE IS A QUICK RUNDOWN OF THE FEB10 ATHENS SHOW. +They played around 14-16 songs. +Several from both albums. +They came out for the first encore and play Long December and Walkaways. +They left and came back and played 3 song, closing with Wiseblood. During the show Adam talked about the 40watt club several times. +After the show we went to the 40watt and the whole band was there. +They were all great. +It was great to stand in front of Nil Lara(the 40watt artist for the night) and groove with Adam. +There were only 30 or so people there and I think we were the only folks that talked to the band about the show. +If anyone has and recent CC stuff please email me. +Thanks again Chad

isn't it amazing that many of us can take these songs and apply the words and feeling to our own troubles, however different they may be,as if the author had been in our shoes. This fact that we are able to do this,or even want to, that is what makes these truly remarkable songs.

Hello, good lord Adam you are my soul-mate! +When my parents wouldn't let me go to your August show back in 7th grade I swear they might as well have just ripped my still-beating heart out of my chest. +Your music helped me through some of the toughest times in my life and it still reaches deeper than any other music I listen to. +I write songs and I always wanted to send them to you cuz your approval would make me feel like a goddess! +Anyway, I digress. +I'll see you guys March 19th in the great frigid state of MN, which I think captures the atmosphere of A Long December better than any other state! +(That's not just a rip on the weather here, the song reminds me of MN.) +Anyway I'll be there praying to meet you! 1/27/97: The greatest freakin' concert of my life. Met Adam on his bus before the show (On accident!) He was so cool. Pretty normal set list - Tracks from Recovering... and August... He played one song that was cut from Recovering...(it shouldn't have been),said it was the second time he has played it live. I forgot its name. The also played a really mellow version of Mr. Jones. The show started with The Mamas and the Papas "California Dreaming", a rather suitable open. It was so awesome.

It was great. +Fiona Apple was alright, but fans were very noisy and disrespectful while she was playing. +She played for 45 min. Counting Crows came on and got a great applaud. +They played for about 100 min. +It was unbelievable. +Mr. Jones wasn't as good as it is on the album. +Adam didn't really interact at all with the audience. All he did was go around and let the fans in the front rows to touch his hand. +He didn't say anything other then his songs. He played Barely out of Tuesday in the middle of 'Round Here. It was really cool. +Adam didn't have a cane. +His was up and around quite and bit. This was definitely the best concert ever. +I wasn't on my seat at all once the Crows' came on. Here's the setlist: +Catapult, Angels of the Silences, Rain King, Time and Time Again, Children in Bloom, Daylight Fading, Mercury, Mr. Jones, Perfect Blue Buildings, Anna Begins, Recovering the Satellites, I'm Not Sleeping, Murder of One, 1st encore: 'Round Here w/ Barely out of Tuesday, A Long December, Walkaways 2nd encore: Wiseblood + +

Just attended the concert in Orlando Feb 6th - the show was AWESOME. +Adam said it was the first show since his knee surgery that didn't cause him pain!! +The only thing that could have improved it for me was if they'd played "Perfect Blue Buildings". +Meant to jot down set list, but forgot pen! +They did a stirring "un-plugged"-type of rendition of "Mr Jones" that probably puzzled those who were there to hear just that! +They put so much emotion into the show that it made fans feel like we were the only audience they'd be playing for! +I would love to get a tape of this show if anyone comes across one.... Thanks! +

Haven't been to a concert yet but going on April fourth at the Greek Theatre in Berkely CA. Man I can't even begin to describe how much I love the Counting Crows. They are so phenominal. Adam's lyrics just move me to the point of emotional ecstacy. His voice flows through my body like a huge river. Whenever i'm feeling down I just put on August or Satellites and I'm transported to love.It was a long December for me. I will never forget it.Counting Crows you are the best band that has ever existed. You just put so much feeling into your music and that's what makes you great. I love you guys!!!!!!"I hope that everybody cann find a little flame,me, I say my prayers then I just light myself on fire and walk out on the wire once again" THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THE MUSIC!!!!!! It speaks to my soul. Round' Here, and Goodnight Elizabeth make me cry everytime. One time I was so sad and I cried From Catapult all the way through the end of Goodnight Elizabeth. But it was a good cry at the end. It felt like the pain and sadnesswas washed away through my tears. I don't know what I would do if you guys didn't exist. Please come back to California!!!!! +

Re: the Dallas show I have been to a lot of concerts in my life I have always been a music fan I have been to big stadium shows that were so intense that I thought that the croud would riot I have been in little hole in the wall bars where old blues men have literaly brought tears to the eyes of former marines (literaly) I have never been to a show that was more personal than the concert given by Counting Crows in Dallas I have never felt a strongly about a bands perforance and I have never been as offended by a review as I was by the review given in the Dallas Morning News the following monday It is nice to know that other people who were there - other than the one asshole who works for the DMN - were as affected as I was I am not nuts! I was way back in the nosebleeds, but it was ok because I got to meet Adam and talk with him, Dan, and Charlie for about 20-25 minutes or so. +I also met Fiona(beautiful). +The show was in Nashville on Monday, Feb. 3, and it was definitely the greatest night of my entire life, without a doubt. +Meeting Adam satisfied a dream that I've had for 3 years. +He is the most talented writer and vocalist that has ever lived...hands down. +Me being a writer and vocalist too, I was totally in shock and am having a hard time convincing myself it wasn't a dream. +Can't remember the setlist, but they played Mr. Jones(slow and sweet), and Catapult was acoustic. +Of course "Private Archipelago" was at the end of "Round Here." +God, I love that. +I told Adam, "One day I'm gonna open for you..., I swear I will." +He looked right into my eyes, paused for a second and said, "I hope you do." +Well, Adam, I will. +I swear it. +Thanks for everything. +I can't wait to see them in Athens, GA. on Monday, Feb. 10th. +Thank God for scalpers.

I went to the Counting Crows in Oklahoma City at the Civic Center on January 28. +I had real close seats and it was the greatest. +During the Fiona Apple concert, I noticed a man using a cane walking down the aisle. +It was dark and I couldn't quite tell, but I was sure it was Adam Duritz. The man sat down two rows behind me. +I looked behind me, and it was for sure Adam. +I went back and sat down by him and shook his hand. +It was the greatest. +I had wanted to meet him for a long time. +The Counting Crows concert was unbelievable, and as always, Adam sang with moving emotion that was straight from his heart. +The concert was totally smooth and perfect. +It also helped me in an unbelievable manner emotionally and helped me solve my problems with my girlfriend. +I am not sure exactly what the set list was, but it was something like this: (They played California Dreaming by the Mamas and the Papas over the system before taking the stage.) Recovering The Satellites Angels of the Silences Ghost Train Daylight Fading I'm Not Sleeping Mr. Jones (slower acoustic version) Rain King (acoustic version) Catapult Goodnight Elisabeth Children in Bloom Another Horsedreamer's Blues Mercury Round Here A Murder of One A Long December Walkaways There was also a song Adam sang and played on the piano by himself. +Sorry, but the songs are not in the exact order but those are the ones they played.

My friend and I drove to Memphis, TN to see the crows, it was great, we got, we got to meet the whole band and get there autographs, on a shirt that I made specially for the concert, and they thought is was very cool and they baught one......can you believe that! Also we got to see the the catapult video they just shot, before all the editing has taken place. VERY, VERY cool!!! Any way, the show was awsome..Adam was in pain(easily noticeable) the setlist was Recovering the Satelites, Angels of Silances. Mr. Jones(acoustic) very slow, Catapult....first time ever done acoustically...Very cool. Time and Time Again, I'm not sleeping, Murder of One, Round Here..verse from Bareley Out of Tuesday, and verse from Private Archapelago. Gost Train, Anna Begins, Daylight Fading, Mercury, Rain King, A long December, Wiseblood, and ended with Walkaways!! A vey exciting show, they played for 2 1/2 hours! I can't wait for the next 3 shows in March I'll be attending! If you would like we're on #countingcrows, on Mirc all the time, we would all love to chat with you.

Saw the Crows in New Orleans. +GREAT SHOW!!!!! + Notes: - Adam and Courtney Cox were sitting in the middle of the crowd watching Fiona Apple and some guys not recognizing them came up to them and said, "Hey, get out of our seats!" - Heard a guy in the bathroom singing "Have You Seen Me Lately" which was funny, cause that's the only song off RTS they didn't play. - Played nothing that wasn't off the two albums - except for a little bit during a long "Round Here" that I didn't recognize at all. +Help me out - It said something about "leaving a light on" - Saenger Performing Arts Center - in downtown New Orleans, right off the French Quarter.. +Cozy, broadway like theater - BEAUTIFUL, decorated in this 1700's Spanish Castle motif. - Adam dedicated "A Long December" to Courtney - They were taping the show for a video coming out in a month. - Adam was looking well, except for a little ackward on his bad leg sometimes - Only played "Round Here", "Mr. Jones", "Anna Begins", "Rain King" and "A Murder of One" off A

Well, I haven't been to a concert yet. +And that fact has consumed my life for the past several months. +I had tickets to the New Brunswick concert last November, but it got postponed to February. +It turns out that I have an exam at the same exact time, so I won't be able to make it (I sold the tickets to a friend of mine who will give it to her boyfriend for a Valentine's gift... I thought it would be a good gesture). +I actually reside in Chicago, so I hoped to catch a concert there during my Spring Break, but it turns out the concert is 3 days before I get out, so I can't. +When I found this out, I died. +But, I didn't give up. +I arranged to get tickets at the Milwaukee concerton March 20th instead (90 miles from chicago), and I have 5th row seats!!!! +This is great since I had 6 row balcony seats for the concert in Jersey. +I guess there is a reason for everything. I can't wait! +Adam is my idle, and the band is great!! +I know that getting the chance to see them live will be the highlight of my life. "and there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last." +And I will definitely remember to hold on the moment before it passes.

I saw the Counting Crows at the 9:30 Club in D.C. +I don't remember the exact day, but they did two shows on two consecutive nights and I went to the second show. +It was amazing!!! I've been a fan for the past three years and this was my first time seeing them live. +The 9:30 was an excellent venue for them because it's very close and intimate. +This was also a cool night because it was the night before Thanksgiving and family members of the band were at the show. +They were everything I expected and more. +I'm going to see them in Norfolk and Richmond and I can't wait.

i just found this page it's great cause We really really listen to the cc alot at our house.just read alan's explanation of +perfect blue buildings-and i thought i had that one figured out-thought and for me it is about a person who has aids, and the desperation-isolation that goes with the disease this person need oblivion -to get away-and how is he going to keep himself away from himself is like a question thrown out to our society and to himself to get awayfrom his own isolation and lonliness.i guess that is what this terrific song is about to me.love it.

i haven't been to a concert, but i do think that it is a good idea,WHEN ARE THEY COMING?i am confused at the lack of support +cc receive from the mainstream media around here(no pun intended)one announcer at a local community radio station described them as too emotional-that is why thay are not so mainstream-too emotional? she said that suits me just fine!another comment i've heard on a popular morning radio show in portland is that they are too whinny(sp)whinny?they are anything but whinney!anyone have any thoughts on this.

Kent, to answer your question, they change guitars because in some of the songs, the guitars are tuned differently. +This is why their songs are so hard to replicate. +Look at the Tablature pages, and you will see what I mean about the tuning.

Caught the show in Dallas, and was amazed at what Adam was capable of emoting in his songs. +It is amazing that he can feel every thing he put into the songs he wrote when he sings them. The concert actually started with the audience singing along when the speakers got turned up for "California Dreaming" just as the house lights went down....it revved us up for "Recovering". I was afraid that I wouldn't hear "Walkaways", and they almost didn't do it, but he changed his mind and did it anyway. + But the best song he sang was the modified "Round Here", which touched me like it never had before. +It was almost as if the rest of the show fed off that song. +When he asked someone to "leave a light on"....I simply was left speechless. I saw them in Houston a few years ago, and "Goodnight Elizabeth" blew me away, both because I had never heard it and because of its content. +This time, it was definitely the added lyrics to "Round Here" that touched me....and still does.

after missing them a few years back at tipatinas I was really excited knowing I had third row at the saenger show in N.O. I had no doubt it would be great, but man I loved it!As much as I listen to them,I havent seen much on them.I was impressed with how personal they all seemed, though not suprised. The set was similar to afor mentioned set with perhaps Millers Angels toward the end.I was hoping to hear Wise Blood or Margery but am not complaining. It was beautiful. Can anyone explain why they all switched guitars before every song? It was also cool that Adam took the time to sign two girls tape covers non-chalantly during one of these switches. i will sell plasma to make it to Atlanta!
