HollyWood Playboys 2

A biography prepared by H. Dennis Garrity jr.

In 1963, a release on Duel Records (Duel-522) titled "Bye Bye Travelin' Man" was listed in the record reviews of Cash Box Magazine, dated Feb. 2, 1963 with comments: Interesting teen market statement from the songster and his busy combo chorus support. Deserves teen-time spins. Graded as B+  b/w "Too Pooped to Popeye", Lively novelty based on the popular teen step. Graded as B.

At the time of this release there was the probable end to who was known as "The Hollywood Playboys". One certain influence to this event was the sudden death of Sax Man "Fritzi". Learning of the car accident just outside of Newark airport was a great shock and brought sadness to all.

Still etched on the vinyl plated demo's exist "Sutton", another dance step based tune and "There's a Girl", evoking a man's drive to catch the love of his life - Both of which were never recorded as a final products.
