These instructions assume that your are using an older version of Internet Explorer for Windows 3.1x or Windows 95. If you have another program click here.

Windows 95 Internet Explorer 3.02

  • Close any programs you have running (i.e. MS Office Tool Bar - Virus Software - etc.)
  • Click here to start the download. (print this page or read the following instructions first).
  • You will be prompted to "OPEN" or "SAVE AS": Choose "OPEN".
  • Wait for the file to download. With a 28.8 modem it will take approx. 30-45 minutes.
  • When the download is competed the Installation will take place automatically.
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
  • Do not use the computer until the download/upgrade is completed.
  • After your computer restarts wait for the Internet Explorer to load and "click" once on the location local to you.
    (Monmouth Internet is NOT responsible for any phone charges resulting from choosing a non-local number.)
  • You are ready to connect to the Internet. "Double click" The Internet icon and enter your username, password (all lower case letters) and connect.

Windows 3.1x Internet Explorer 3.0b

  • Create a directory on your C: drive called downloads.
  • Close any programs you have running (i.e. MS Office Tool Bar - Virus Software - etc.)
  • Click here to start the download. (print this page or read the following instructions first).
  • You will be prompted to "OPEN" or "SAVE AS": Choose "SAVE AS".
  • Select the c:\downloads directory from the dialog box. Click on SAVE
  • Wait for the file to download. With a 28.8 modem it will take approx. 15-25 minutes.
  • Do not use the computer until the download/upgrade is completed.
  • When the download is competed. Use the File Manager and "double click" on the iew31.exe. This will expand into multiple files.
  • One of the files will be setup.exe; "double click" on setup.exe in the c:\download directory
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
  • After the computer restarts goto the "Microsoft Internet Explorer" Group.
  • If you do not have an Icon called "Monmouth Internet" "double click" on "Get on the Internet".
  • Wait for the Internet Explorer to load and "click" once on the location local to you.

  • Next choose the "Microsoft Internet Explorer Group" to save the icon.
  • You are ready to connect to the Internet. "Double click" the Monmouth Internet icon and enter your username, password (all lower case letters) and connect.

Email Setup

  • Once connected online you will be viewing our home page with Internet Explorer. Please click on the MAIL icon located in the upper right. Select Read Mail.
  • Full Name: Enter your real name or the name that you want to known as.
  • Email Address: username@monmouth.com
  • Email Account: username.
  • Email Password: The password assigned to you.
  • POP & SMTP Mail Servers: mail.monmouth.com
