Host/PPP

A Host/PPP connection is a dial-up PPP (point-to-point) connection which makes your Host (PC or MAC) a node (directly connected machine) on the Internet. This connection has a dynamic IP assignment (the IP number changes each time you are connected). The software that you use with this connection is Windows or Mac based, graphical, attractive, and very easy to use. You can have multiple telnet (terminal) sessions up at once, while you are downloading files with your ftp program and best of all, this type of connection supports Mosaic and Netscape, the popular graphical browsers for the World Wide Web. It is the Web that has caused the drastic surge in Internet popularity and it is currently doubling in size every two months!

ISDN Access

Monmouth Telecom now supports both 64KB single and 128KB dual channel ISDN dial-up access service for home and business use. An ISDN line (along with a digital modem if you desire) is needed to connect to our ISDN-PRI server. If your are interested in speeding along on the information superhighway at rates 5-8 times faster than most modems, and being able to communicate in two ways at once, read on.
