What is SCAN?

SCAN, Inc. is an innovative, non-profit organization designed for persons age 55 and older. It offers cultural, educational, and informational services in a non-traditional, familiar mall setting. SCAN is co-sponsored by Jersey Central Power & Light Co., Medical Center of Ocean County, Merrill Lynch, Monmouth Medical Center and Monmouth Mall. It is open to all people, regardless of income, sex, race, religion, or background. It offers a wide variety of services and classes. It is hoped that persons age 55 and older will take full advantage of the programs offered, and will participate in designing programming that is meaningful to the 55+ community.

Mission

The Mission of Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN) is to enhance the dignity of older adults by promoting, sponsoring and coordinating programs which culturally, physically, and intellectually maintain and continue to develop the quality of life.
