CONSTRUCTION
We are always happy to have experienced people
and professionals help us build houses. No experience is required, however.
Everyone over 16 is welcome. (Parental permission required for volunteers under
18.) We'll find a job for you, regardless of experience level.
Construction days are most Saturdays at 8:30 am. We also have a
group that works on Wednesdays. For a weekly phone update (modified every
Tuesday) about our work schedule, call our voice mail (732-728-1299) and select
option 3.

HOW YOU CAN HELP Volunteers
Needed We
need volunteers for the following positions:
Construction
Committee
1. Someone to handle queries from the Materials Donation Hotline answering service
regarding whether we’d accept furnishing and materials for building, contact
the donors and give them information about where their donations can be donated
(Habitat for Humanity re-store). If there’s something we can use, contact Construction
Manager about pick up.
2. Persons to keep the yard around the Warehouse in Long Branch, mowed and cleaned.
(Every two weeks in the summer). Monthly in the winter (clean up)
Fund Development Committee
Fund raising/development involves a variety of tasks including, telephoning,
letter writing, organizing fundraisers. This committee needs people who can develop
creative fund raising ideas and help implement them successfully.
Site Selection Committee
This Committee targets areas of the community for development. Once an area is
targeted, it is this committee’s responsibility to find suitable property for
building and recommend property acquisition to Habitat’s Board of Directors.
Volunteer Committee
1. Someone to write notes for students who need a letter for school about their
service to Habitat.
2. Someone to schedule groups.
3. Someone to send out email pleas for volunteers for special events and to handle
the replies by notifying the proper committee heads or person.
Faith Community Relations Committee
Chairman
This committee builds liaisons with community churches and synagogues to recruit
volunteers and raise funds to support Habitat’s projects.
Miscellaneous
People to address (by Hand) envelopes when needed.
